About the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2021)
Organised by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in collaboration with the African Union
Commission (AUC) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, the second
Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2021) will take place in Durban from 15 to 21 November 2021.

IATF2021 is intended to provide a unique platform for facilitating trade and investment information
exchange in support of increased intra-African trade, especially in the context of implementing the
AfCFTA, which entered into force on 30 May 2019 and under which trading commenced on 01
January 2021. The objectives of the Intra-African Trade Fair include bringing together continental
and global players to showcase and exhibit their goods and services, and to explore business and
investment opportunities in the continent; providing a platform to share trade, investment and
market information with stakeholders and to discuss and identify solutions to the challenges
affecting intra-African trade and investments. The Trade Fair is also open to non-African countries
interested in doing business in Africa and supporting its transformation through industrialisation and
intra-African trade and investments.

The key verticals of IATF2021 include Trade Exhibition, Trade and Investment Forum (Conference),
Business to Business and Business to Government exchanges, Creative African Nexus, Automotive
Forum, Youth Start-Up, Country Day and IATF Virtual platform. A Trade and Investment Forum will
feature high-profile speakers and panellists addressing topical issues relating to Intra-African trade in
the context of implementation of the AfCFTA, trade finance, payments, trade facilitation, trade-
enabling infrastructure, trade standards, industrialisation, regional value chains and investment,
among others.
It is expected that the Trade Fair will attract:
 More than one thousand exhibitors.
 More than 10,000 visitors and buyers and more than 5,000 conference participants from all
55 African countries, and the rest of the World; and
 More than US$40 Billion in trade and investment deals.
